Spring timidly begins to appear to gain ground over winter. The return of the sun, the good weather and the pleasant temperatures is something that we all appreciate, especially the nature, which has one of the most poetic and beautiful ways of welcoming this precious season: with tears and flowers.

Almond blossom

It could be said that the almond blossoms are desperate waiting the arrival of spring. That is why, during the winter, when there are warm days, some almond trees begin to bloom prematurely.

What may seem like a spectacle of color and life, can be dangerous, since the risk of frost is high, and with it, the loss of flowers and therefore the harvest.

That is why, as soon as spring begins to appear and the temperatures rise, the almond trees bring out all their splendor and delight us with landscapes full of white and pink flowers that invite you to enjoy the countryside, relax and put everything aside to enjoy the moment.

Weeping of the vine

When we say that we welcome spring with tears, it is not a metaphor, it is reality.

During the winter, the monastrell vines fall asleep to survive the cold, but with the rise in temperatures they wake up and then, they start to cry. With the rise in soil temperature above 10 degrees, the sap begins to circulate through the vine, and it reaches the cuts produced by pruning. This are the tears of the vines, and we call it the weeping of the vine.

We can say that the Monastrell, like any other variety and like human beings, comes back to life with spring.
